Stormwater Management
- With the threat of climate change bringing both higher sea levels and more extreme weather, the island has seen more flooding than in years past — with this year’s floods tied to significant rain events where water was unable to drain from roads and properties in part due to higher sea levels. In response, the Panel’s Sea Level Rise Committee has added a Stormwater Management component to its fact-finding efforts, both to determine current stormwater management activities as well as develop options to help address future flooding concerns. We expect this will be a growing concern that will eventually need its own committee to research and report.
